Dissolved Air Flotation Systems

DAF System Overview
Dissolved Air Flotation (DAF) is recognized as one of the most effective and robust methods for removing suspended solids (TSS), biochemical oxygen demand (BOD5), fats, oils, and grease (FOG), and phosphorus (P) from industrial wastewaters. Our engineered systems provide intelligent and reliable solutions tailored to variations in industrial activity and demanding water stream requirements.
Proven Performance: We have provided more than 3000 Dissolved Air Flotation systems worldwide across food and beverage, dairy, meat processing, oil and gas, and municipal markets.

How Dissolved Air Flotation Works

DAF Working Principle

The process is based on physical and chemical treatment. Air is injected into the water stream under pressure. With chemical assistance, particles and flocs attach to micro-bubbles and float to the surface. This floating sludge layer is then automatically and continuously removed by a specialized scraper mechanism, resulting in treated effluent virtually free of TSS and FOG.

Key Benefits & Features

  • Maximum TSS, FOG, and BOD removal efficiency.
  • Patented aeration system for reduced energy consumption.
  • Prefabricated units for significantly reduced installation time.
  • Compact design suitable for containerized or skid-mounted installation.
  • Operational flexibility with smart level control and sludge scraper systems.
  • Advanced Plate Pack Technology for a reduced footprint.
DAF Features

Typical Applications

  • Industrial wastewater pretreatment (TSS & FOG removal).
  • Fats, oils, and grease resource recovery.
  • Drinking water intake solids removal.
  • Algae bloom removal in water treatment.
  • Biological treatment (activated or anaerobic sludge flotation).
  • Tertiary treatment for phosphorus and nutrient removal.
  • Pretreatment for Desalination and Reverse Osmosis systems.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the primary function of a DAF system?
Dissolved Air Flotation (DAF) is designed to remove suspended solids (TSS), fats, oils, and grease (FOG), and reduce BOD/COD levels in wastewater through a physical-chemical flotation process.
How do I select the right model for my needs?
Selection depends on your wastewater type (industrial, domestic, food), required flow capacity (m³/hour), and raw water quality parameters like SS, Oil & Grease content, and PH levels.
What is the typical production lead time?
General series products typically take 5-10 days. Customized solutions or large batches usually require 15-30 days depending on the specific project requirements.
Is the equipment easy to assemble upon delivery?
Yes. We provide comprehensive CAD installation instructions and assembly procedures. For complex projects, technical guidance for commissioning is also available.
What is the expected lifespan of the DAF unit?
With proper maintenance, our equipment is designed for a service life of 10-15 years. The materials used are highly durable and anti-corrosive.
What are your standard payment terms?
We typically accept TT and L/C. Our standard process involves a 30% deposit with the remaining 70% balance paid before shipment.
