PSA Oxygen Generator Principle

The PSA oxygen generator is an automatic equipment which separates oxygen from air based on the performance of molecular sieves. Nitrogen molecules have a faster diffusion rate in the molecular sieve while oxygen molecules have a slower rate. Oxygen molecules are enriched from the absorption tower. The system operates on the Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA) principle, utilizing two towers crossed by purified compressed air. While one tower produces oxygen, the other releases nitrogen to the atmosphere, controlled by a Siemens PLC.
